The ASYMCA and the Alaska Railroad is excited to present this year’s Mother Son! On Saturday, August 13, Moms and their sons will travel to Portage to catch a ride on the Alaska Railroad. Next stop… the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop where everyone will enjoy a hike to the beautiful Spencer Glacier. This is a wonderful way to learn about Alaska’s backcountry and natural wonders.

  • Participants must be active duty, guard or reserve, or their dependents.
  • Participants who attended in 2015 are not eligible to register for this year’s event.
  • Due to the length of the hike, we recommend this event for ages 6 and up.

How to participate in this event:

Tickets go on sale July 25th for active duty, guard and reserve or their dependents. Purchase tickets online here, or visit our ASYMCA Welcome Center on JBER-Elmendorf at 10449 Luke Avenue.
