Executive Director Joan Wilcoxen with Board Vice Chair Connie McQuinn and Immediate Past President Linda Wood recently gathered to finalize plans for the ASYMCA Luncheon being held Friday at Western Oklahoma State College.
Altus Armed Services YMCA invites all supporters of our military and our Altus ASYMCA outreach to Altus Air Force Base to the ASYMCA’s Annual Appreciation Luncheon to be hosted this Friday, April 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Western Oklahoma State College Student Center. This year’s event features the Altus Air Force Base 97th AMW Command Chief David Fish as the Keynote Speaker. Hosted as a joint function with the Altus Kiwanis Club, the Altus Rotary and Lions Club members are urged to attend, also. RSVPs are requested at firstname.lastname@example.org or by text or messages to 580-471-9733.
The Altus branch is the smallest branch of the Armed Services YMCA and has served Altus Air Force Base since 2001. For the past six years Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator has rated the Armed Services YMCA four stars, the highest rating in Financial Health and Accountability and Transparency among America’s charities. This year the Altus branch also was credential by the Standards for Excellence Institute, a national initiative that promotes the highest standards of ethics and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations, and facilitates adherence to those standards by all nonprofits.
Executive Director Joan Wilcoxen encourages everyone who cares about our American service men and women to make a tax deductible contribution to support these ongoing efforts to show that we support our military members and appreciate their sacrifice. Checks to the ASYMCA can be mailed to PO Box 72, Altus, OK 73522 or call Joan at 580-471-9733 and she will be happy to pick up your donation.
