Kimberly Dozier Thanks the Medic
WASHINGTON, DC – Baltimore native Kimberly Dozier remembered the people who saved her life last year in Iraq.
The CBS news correspondent was at a special ceremony in Washington, D.C. to say thank you.
Mary Bubala reports Dozier was covering a story with the 4th Infantry Division when a bomb exploded and almost killed her. Two other people she was with did not survive the bomb. Cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan died in Iraq.
On Wednesday, Dozier did not relive her past, she simply thanked the medics she says saved her life.
Specialist Izzy Flores one was of many men and women who came to her rescue. Flores says he is overwhelmed by the attention and gratitude.
Dozier will have to undergo more surgeries. She recently underwent another surgery to try to fix her right eardrum.
Dozier is from Baltimore County. She was a graduate from St. Timothy’s School and her parents still live in Baltimore County.
