Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA (June 26, 2012) — Local military families will continue to receive much-needed support and services from the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) through the help of a $300,000 contribution from longtime supporter TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

Facing budget deficits that would have placed popular programs and services—including social events for military children and recognitions of military community members—in jeopardy, the donation will now go toward keeping those programs available for hundreds of military families in the Naval Air Station Lemoore area in 2012-2013.

Naval Air Station Lemoore-area ASYMCA programs helped by the contribution include:

  • Summer Camp opportunities for children of active duty military families at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake.

ASYMCA Lemoore Program Director Evan Gelsi is grateful for TriWest funding, “Without TriWest support, many opportunities for military families would have to be cut.”

“TriWest stepping up and continuing to fully fund their charitable partners says it all,” said ASYMCA President and CEO Mike Landers. “They care about troops and their families, and the ASYMCA continues to be a proud partner alongside them.”

A Phoenix-based company that administers the U.S. military’s TRICARE health benefit in 21 western states, TriWest is proud to support the ASYMCA and their community outreach efforts, said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr.

“We’re truly privileged to be able to help the ASYMCA in the military communities that we have the honor of serving together,” McIntyre said.
