In the Preschool program, qualified teachers provide military families a “Mommy and Me” preschool format at four base locations. There are three sessions per day that include: Lil Friends (18 month to 2.5 years), and Kindertyme (2.5 to 5 years). The program runs an academic year beginning in September and concluding in June with graduation. The program also includes field trips, holiday parties, and functions such as “Daddy and Me” and “Kids in the Kitchen”. The Preschool program starts the children on their educational journey and allows their mothers to bond with their child developing positive parent and child relationship and become involved with their child’s early education. This program allows the young spouses the opportunity to get out of the house and network with other mothers who are in a similar situation and to learn from those who have been through many deployment cycles. This eases the stress and anxiety long deployments can cause in addition to other issues and hardships experienced for those who are new to the military lifestyle.
