Mothers in Transition

The Mothers in Transition program is an organized and structured support group of prenatal and post partum active duty military women and dependent spouses. The group meets for a ten week period, once a week for 90 minutes at a community center on base with a clinical therapist to provide knowledge about maternal depression and its risk factors, symptoms, and treatments; coping skills, available resources, effects on family members, and group support for individual members. A second part of the program provides a monthly refresher meeting (First Friday) where graduates of the support group meet to reinforce the skills and techniques learned in the support group.
