Operation Hero is an after school program designed to address issues faced by many of our young military youth. Military life can be challenging for children move from duty station to duty station. One or both parents can be deployed for extended periods of time making many households managed by a single parent. Often children feel isolated in new or even old surroundings. They may experience feelings of self-doubt or suffer from low self-esteem. This can lead to behavior problems placing their academic performance in jeopardy. Operation Hero facilitates a positive environment, encourages responsible behavior, and provides the encouragement our military children need to get back on track in school, both academically and socially.
