ASYMCA Hotel – A soldier leaving the military was staying at the hotel with his teenage son. The soldier was also going through a difficult divorce and had run out of money. The soldier told the front desk he had no more money until the end of the month, if not allowed to stay he would have to sleep in his car with his son because he had no place to go until the end of the month. The soldier was allowed to stay, the ASY helped him find additional help, he paid his bill and moved to another state.

ASYMCA Hotel – An older veteran who was staying at the hotel noticed a picture of the old ASYMCA Residence Inn on the wall. The picture brought back many fond memories. He remembered staying at the ASYMCA as a young 18 year old who had recently joined the Army and was getting ready to ship out to the Korean War. He was able to point out the exact window and room he stayed in for several weeks while training at Fort Bliss.
