Sodexho’s independent charitable organization, the Sodexho Foundation (www.helpstophunger.org), is committed to being a driving and creative force that contributes to a hunger-free nation. Since its founding in 1999, the Sodexho Foundation has made more than $9.2 million in grants to fight hunger in America. The Foundation supports innovative programs to help children and families in the United States who are battling problems like poverty, unemployment, lack of education, and food insecurity. Sodexho Government Services is a $250 million division of Sodexho North America that serves 29 million meals annually – over 88,000 meals daily across 21 states. We service 106 Federal Agency sites, 55 Mess Halls, 1 advanced food processing plant, 60+ foodservice maintenance sites, and international alliances, with over 2,300 employees and 10 different subcontractor partners. The people of Sodexho are very proud of our partnership with the Marine Corps and fully support the men and women of our armed forces. Everyday we strive to create and offer services that contribute to a more pleasant way of life for all the marines, airmen, sailors, and soldiers serving their country at home and abroad. In U.S. Marine Corps installations, Sodexho partially funds Armed Services YMCA’s Operation Hero, a mentoring program for children ages 6-12 that experience difficulty in school due to deployment, family disruption or frequent moves. Operation Hero is a semester-long program that provides after-school tutoring and mentoring assistance twice a week. With an eight-to-one student-instructor ratio, children receive the individual attention they need to help them overcome these unique challenges. Sodexho’s contributions to the ASYMCA allow this program to flourish and strengthen the company’s commitment to supporting our men and women in uniform and their families. Partnering is important to Sodexho. Following Sodexho’s involvement with ASYMCA’s Operation Hero they sought out opportunities to support the ASYMCA elsewhere. This has included participation by Sodexho employees in events and activities such as Super Bowl and Concrete Beach as SOI. To learn more about Sodexho please visit www.sodexhousa.com. |
