Operation Kid Comfort
Operation Kid Comfort is a program designed to serve the children of deployed service members. The program addresses the emotional stress these children suffer during a parent’s absence from home. Volunteers create photo-transfer quilts bearing the images of the deployed parent and deliver them to children aged 0 to 5 years. There is no cost to the child for the quilt and the only stipulation is that the quilt stays in the hands of the child; it is not meant to be on display in the home. In addition, we provide children older than 5 years old a quilted pillow case with a picture of their deployed parent.
