Operation Hero

operation hero

Operation Hero is a free after-school mentoring program for children ages 6-12 who are facing unique challenges due to relocation and/or parent deployment. The Operation Hero program helps children deal with these challenges in a healthy way and helps children discover that they are heroes just like their military parents.

The program uses a unique approach that empowers children to make better choices, builds their self-esteem, teaches team building, and helps them succeed academically.

We run two, 10 week sessions in the fall and spring at select elementary schools. For the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year, Operation Hero will be offered at:

Shelton Park Elementary in Virginia Beach

Birdneck Elementary in Virginia Beach

Hermitage Elementary in Virginia Beach

Camp Allen Elementary in Norfolk
