Our AmeriCorps navigators work 900 hours/part-time for a year; our AmeriCorps VISTA member is a full time position. In return, they receive a living stipend during service as well as college tuition assistance after service hours are complete. Group Fitness Instructor
The Group Fitness/Family Fitness Instructor will offer quality customer service to our participants by
teaching safe and functionally challenging classes that promote total fitness development. The
instructor will promote other Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads (ASYMCAHR) programs and
help to promote our special events. A FUN atmosphere should be created and group interaction
should be encouraged.

Program Assistant/Community Center Sub
The Program Assistant/Community Center SUB will offer quality customer service to our participants. Will
assist Community Center Program Manager. Staff will promote Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads
(ASYMCAHR) programs and help to promote our special events.

The ASY is recruiting for our Child Development team at both our Regional and Sewells Point Before and After School locations. The positions open are both for Lead Teacher/Bus Driver. Lead Teacher/Bus Driver
Hours: Split shift Mon-Fri 7am-9am and 2:45pm-5pm
The Lead Teacher/Bus Driver is a part-time position and is responsible for the safety, care and transportation of the children in the Child Development Program under the guidance of the Program Director. This position is open at both our regional office as well as our Sewells Point location, but travel to either location may occasionally be required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily communication with parents and children
- Communicate program concerns and problems to supervisor
- Assist children with homework daily
- Encourage children to use self-help skills where applicable
- All bus drivers must go through a training process with the lead bus driver
- Head counts of all passengers must be done while entering and exiting the bus
- Keep the first aid supplies current
