Parent Participation Preschool

Preschool

For a young child, transitioning from home to school can be a difficult move for some children to undertake. Parent Participation Preschool helps military children ease into this new chapter of their lives by working alongside both their parent and the teacher. Armed Services YMCA of Honolulu is proud to provide this high quality affordable early education program.

This academic and themed based preschool is a three phased program for children ages three to five and is designed to introduce children to a structured learning environment.  Students attend class twice a week for two to three hours developing their skills in language arts, math, science, and problem solving. As a child progresses into the second phase, he/she has become confident with the established structure of an academic environment and the parent participates less in the classroom. In all phases, qualified teachers, along with their assistants, provide a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment designed to give children a healthy start to their formal education. With a focus on phonics, writing, math skills, and science, each student graduates fully prepared for Kindergarten and having established a foundation for future social and academic success.

A $25.00 registration fee is required for first time registration for all classes.
