Finance & Funding

make a donation to a top rated military charityWhile our services have increased by more than 150% since September 11, 2001, our overhead costs remain below 10% — a number well below the 25% recommended by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the organization that provides oversight over the annual Federal Combine Federal Campaign (CFC). More than two-thirds of our funds are raised through internal efforts. We are proud of our fiscally responsible, top-rated military non-profit status, and we are happy to share our financial transparency as an “exceptional” military non-profit, as rated by Charity Navigator in 2012.

We are entirely self-funded through individual donations, corporate contributions, and a standing YMCA endowment that pays for our free and low-cost military programs and services. Except for contracts for services, we receive no funding from the U.S. government. Your donation can help us impact the lives of more military families, and help make military life easier.

Thank you for learning more and we hope you will consider contributing to much needed services for military and their families.

Charity Navigator
In 2012, the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) received an “Exceptional” rating from Charity Navigator for the seventh straight year. The designation recognizes ASYMCA for consistently executing its mission to enrich the lives of junior enlisted personnel and their families in a fiscally responsible way. As America’s premier independent charity evaluator, Charity Navigator reviews the financial health of more than 5,500 of America’s largest charities, providing donors with objective, reliable assessments of the financial health of their chosen charity. The four-star rating indicates that ASYMCA exceeds industry standards. Only 2 percent of charities rated by Charity Navigator have received six or more consecutive four-star evaluations.
