Request a Quilt for a Military Child

Operation Kid Comfort Quilt Requests

Operation Kid Comfort Quilts are for children ages 6 and under (pillows ages 7 and older) of deployed service men and women. To receive a quilt, please complete the following form below. The first form is the Request and Release Form; the second form is the Photo Submission Form, which will ask for eight (8) photographs (less than 2 MB each) that will help the child(ren) cope during the parent’s deployment. As all materials and services are donated by Armed Services YMCA volunteers and private donations; there is no fee for this program.

Note:  This request process is only for those families not stationed at one of the military installations currently offering the Kid Comfort program. For a list of those locations, click here.

Release

The Armed Services YMCA is actively pursuing corporate, business and individual support for Operation Kid Comfort and the many other programs we offer. With your permission, we may use photographs provided for these projects, as well as photographs of the finished quilts and photographs taken at Operation Kid Comfort workshops and events for these purposes. Please read our privacy statement and approve or disapprove the use of your image, the image of your child(ren) and/or your spouse below. Please note that 6-8 high resolution digital photos are preferred and we will NOT be able to return any hard copies of photographs sent.

Privacy Policy

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law. We restrict access to your personal information to those employees and volunteers who need to know that information to provide products and/or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS

• Larger than 50kb but smaller than 2mb each
• High-resolution so they can be sized to 8.5 inches
• Of the deployed parent alone
• Of the deployed parent with the child or children
• Of the deployed parent in family pictures
• Please include one or more photos of the deployed parent in uniform

We are a top-rated military non-profit and rely on private donations to fund Operation Kid Comfort. A fee of $10 per quilt , and $5 per pillow to cover postage costs is necessary to sustain the program. Click here to pay shipping, along with the month the request was submitted.  Quilts cannot be shipped until shipping costs have been paid.

Each quilt costs over $50 in materials and 8 hours of volunteer time. We thank you for help in continuing this great program for worthy military families.
