SAN DIEGO (CNS) – With already strong demand from enlisted families for holiday assistance, volunteers with the San Diego Armed Services YMCA Wednesday went on a shopping spree for gifts at a Toys R Us store.

The YMCA’s Brittany Catton said 1,140 enlisted families have signed up to receive help, more than 100 over last year.

She said the amount of military families the YMCA will be able to serve depends directly on the amount of toys and donation received up to Dec. 14th.
