Food Pantry

It was so embarrassing for us. We had to pay a lot of money for a car repair that we needed but we thought we had enough to get by until the next payday. Well we were wrong. Our food ran out with still five more days until my husband got paid. We didn’t know what to do. It was one thing for my husband and I not to eat but we couldn’t ask that of our two little girls. I told him he had to talk to his chaplain and see what could be done for us if anything. The chaplain called the Armed Services YMCA and they told us to come right over. I couldn’t believe it! They had six huge baskets of food for us! Enough for meals for the next week and even some special treats for our girls! They didn’t make us feel like “low lifes” either. Plus Ms. Virginia gave us a $25 gas card to make sure we had enough gas for our car until next payday. We’ve never been in a situation like this before and I hope we never will again but I do know we wouldn’t have made it without the ASYMCA. What a great Christian organization! – Carrie
