Operation Hero


Operation Hero is an onsite after-school program, which focuses on character development and skill building within military children who have been identified by school personnel and parents exhibiting low self esteem, or difficulty adjusting both academically and socially in the school environment. Curriculum is designed to help children handle the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and help develop a positive self-image while improving social and communication skills.

Club Hero is an extension of the Operation Hero program designed to meet the developmental needs of middle school aged military children. Club Hero follows the same standards of practice as Operation Hero with the exception of curriculum and program structure.

Operation Hero is offered at the following schools: Hancock Elementary, Miller Elementary, Silver Strand Elementary, Vista La Mesa Academy

Club Hero is offered at: De Portola Middle School.

*Eligibility Requirements: Active duty sponsor and attend one of the participating schools
