Kids Care Club

Kids Care Club spends a lot of time learning about how to give back to their community. One way that they do this is by providing Christmas stockings and Easter baskets to children in Child Protective Services. When they do this, the Military children in Kids Care Club learn that not all kids have the opportunity to live with their parents. The ASY facilitator was asked once by a girl in KCC why they were putting these items together and who they were for. The facilitator explained that not all children live with their parent so these are things that they normally wouldn’t receive for Christmas or Easter like most people would. The girl immediately spoke up and said “I know someone like that!” After talking to the girl for a little bit, it turns out she has a friend from school whose dad was deployed, and mother was unable to care for her. The ASY staffer could not help but notice how much heart this girl began to put into the items for these children, realizing that you never know when they could be going to a friend. It was a great lesson for the children in KCC to learn together.
