Thrift Store

Located in Bldg. 193, the ASYMCA Thrift Store is open Tuesday – Friday and two Saturdays per month to the Base community to purchase reasonably priced donated items such as clothing, housewares, children’s toys, furniture, books, and much more. One key feature to the ASY Thrift Store is that donated uniform items are provided to active duty service members at no cost. Donations of good quality items are always welcome and gladly accepted.

As part of the Thrift Store’s continuing efforts to improve on the experience of its shoppers the Thrift Store Staff would also like to make the public aware of items that they cannot accept as donations. Although the store regrets ever having to turn away a generous donation from anyone in the community, the Thrift Store is not able to accept any of the following items:

Undergarments and bathing suits

Stained or torn clothing

Household cleaning products that have been opened

Personal hygiene, toiletries, etcetera that have been opened

Pet food

Used mattresses

Construction and yard equipment – lawn movers, weed eaters, etcetera

Propane tanks

Older televisions

Computers and computer monitors

VHS movies

Counterfeit items

Reproduced DVDS, CDs, VHS tapes (i.e. copies/”burned” copies)

Used tires

Automotive parts – i.e. brake pads, windshield wipers

Large household appliances – dishwashers, ovens/stovetops, refrigerators. Washers and dryers ARE accepted

Weapons or explosives

Broken furniture

The Thrift Store staff greatly appreciates the understanding and cooperation of its customers and donors. Keeping this list in mind as you make your donations enables the Thrift Store staff to process new merchandise more quickly, and ensures that safe, sanitary items that are in good condition reach the shelves and our shoppers more quickly and efficiently!
