Taking the "stress" out of Financial Distress
The ASYMCA of Alaska manages the ASYMCA Bargain Shop on Fort Wainwright and JBER. As prices skyrocket and the economy seems unpredictable, military families can still rely on the sensible comfort of a good bargain at the ASYMCA Bargain Shop. Here you’ll find a great selection of gently-worn clothing, household goods, and used items.
The ASYMCA Bargain Shops can also help service members and military families in crisis by operating as an extension of our Guardian Angel Program (GAP). To learn more about the ASAYMCA Bargain Shops' role in our GAP program, please visit the program's information page here.
Special deals are available to DoD ID card holders. Our Bargain Shops feature weekly deals, seasonal sales, and everyday low prices designed to help military families’ dollar go further.
The ASYMCA Bargain Shops accept donations year-round of household goods, apparel, military uniforms, furniture, and other serviceable items that thrifty families can use. This regular influx of donations also creates flexible volunteer opportunities for those who’d like to donate their time toward supporting military families.
ACCESSING THIS PROGRAM:
To shop at our Bargain Shops, just stop by during business hours!
Another benefit of this program is that it provides an easy-to-access destination for anyone living on installation looking to re-home their gently used apparel, furniture, or household goods. This is a perfect solution for military families to lighten their load as they PCS to their next duty station.
Making Donations: If you plan to donate any large items to the ASYMCA Bargain Shop, please drop them off in the designated areas--this helps us to protect your donation from the elements, and be good neighbors. If the designated areas are full, or if your items are large/bulky, please contact your nearest location and we will be happy to coordinate a convent time for your drop-off.
