The ASYMCA of Alaska, in partnership with the Tourism Cares, is raising funds to help military families in crisis who are experiening food insecurity. Make a donation, enter to win, or both!

About the Getaway Package

The Getaway Giveaway is provided courtesy of our community partners at the Alyeska Resort, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Major Marine Tours, and Habor 360 Hotel as part of the Tourism Cares initiative. It is a multi-day trip in two Alaskan communities including hotel accommodations and activities.

This package includes:

  • Three night stay at the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood
  • Tickets for the Alyeska Tram
  • $100 gift card to use at the Alyeska Resort outlets
  • A VIP tour at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
  • One night stay at the Harbor 360 Hotel in Seward
  • One 6-hour Kenai Fjords National Park Tour for two with Major Marine Tours.

FAQs

Who is eligible to enter for this giveaway?

Registration is open statewide to:

  • Age 18+
  • Alaska Resident or non-resident military stationed in Alaska
  • Limited to one entry per household.

Why are you asking for donations?

Due to Covid-19, the Armed Services YMCA is not able to coordinate food drives, or accept food donations for our pantry. We know there are lots of people who want to help, and this is currently the best way to do so. Additionally, monetary donations can be stretched farther due to our community partnership; and allow us to purchase the things our families need the most. 

Do I have to make a donation to be entered for the prize?

Absolutely not. If you want to give back to your community and making a donation is a way that works for you--we are grateful.  Whether you give or not, your chances of being the lucky winner are the same.

What is the deadline to register?

The deadline to register is close of business on June 30, 2020.

When will you choose a winner?

Registration will be open through the end of June. One July, we will pull the list of registrants and randomly select a winner. The winner will be notified no later than July 2.

I just want to donate to the Food Pantry. Can I do that?

Absolutely. We are increadibly grateful to the support of our community, and this is not exception. If you want to help provide food security for our military family, but don't want to be entered for the Getaway Giveaway package, you can choose the "Donation Only" option and enter any denomination of your choice into the "make a one-time donation" field.

Who is the ASYMCA Food Pantry for?

The ASYMCA Food Pantry is for currently serving military and their dependents who are experiencing food insecurity, or whose finances are under strain.
