Are you ready to play in the mud?? It’s time for the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads 19th Annual 8K Mud Run & Mini Mud, a challenging course winding through sand dunes, beach barricades, and a variety of coastal terrains utilized by our very own military service members.
The 19th Annual 8K Mud Run & Mini Mud will take place Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 from 8 to 11 a.m. at JEB Little Creek Base. Proceeds of this event will go directly to our military community at the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads, a private, non-profit organization with a mission to enhance the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life.
RACE DAY EVENTS
Whether you are a diligent race participant or a first-time attendee, this is a challenging and rewarding event! Race time is 8:05 a.m. Saturday morning, but traffic for this event is expected to be heavy so please give yourself plenty of time to get through the gate and park. Complete parking instructions with maps and base passes will be included in the packets you receive at package pick-up. Check-in begins at 7 a.m.; at this time, race participants will receive the specially designed 19th Annual 8K Mud Run & Mini Mud T-shirt.
Race categories include Individual, Individual Active Duty, Retiree, Veteran, and Dependent, Mini Mud Run (5-12 years old), Couples, and Teams.
Teams must include at least five members and be one of the following:
- All male team
- All female team
- Co-ed team
- Active Duty Military team
- Public Safety team
- Corporate team
For non-participants, we have something special for you, as well! Join runners for a Post-Race Beach Party with the purchase of a $5 “CHEER BAND.” Enjoy a variety of food and drinks, beer for athletes 21 & older, activities for children, music, pizza, & of course the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay. Plan to join us for our post-race celebration with the whole family.
Registration for this event is capped at 2,500 participants, so be sure to register as soon as possible! Ticket price increases after June 15, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EDT for all race day events. Your race registration includes: custom race t-shirt, finishers medal, awards for those who place, free food and drinks at the beachside after party for all participants, a sense of accomplishment, and the feel-good joy that comes from supporting our efforts in providing low or no-cost programs to service members and their families.
