Anchorage, Alaska, January 9, 2018 – Petro Star Inc., a leading provider of fuel products in Alaska, is giving back to the military community with a donation of $45,000 to the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska.
Since 1941, The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska has served their mission to enhance the lives of military members and their families in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life. The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska will continue to serve this mission by growing their programs to combat food insecurity, childcare accessibility, family separation, financial distress, and addressing the unique stressors of military families. With the generous sponsorship of Petro Star Inc., the ASYMCA of Alaska will increase operations at Eielson Air Force Base, and continue quality programs and services on Ft. Wainwright, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, and throughout the state of Alaska.
“The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska relies solely on contributions from our many partners and donors to provide programs and critical services to our military members and their families that are stationed in Alaska. I am so incredibly grateful and honored that Petro Star partners with us to ensure that gaps of services like food insecurity, military lounges in our two major airports, emergency travel and family strengthening opportunities will be provided to our Arctic Warriors,” Sarah Riffer, Executive Director, Armed Services YMCA of Alaska.
