Showing continued support to military members and their families
American Airlines has donated 4 million air miles to help the Armed Services YMCA support active duty service members and their families. The miles will be used by staff to travel to the 34 branches spread across 18 states providing services to more than 540,000 troops and their family members on or near 59 of the largest military bases in the country.
American Airlines miles will be used to:
- Bring leadership to the branch locations
- Bring branch leadership together for training
- Provide a free or low cost travel ability to junior enlisted personnel in extreme circumstances
Longtime military supporter:
American Airlines has long been a supporter of the military and their families. This is a continuation of their long-term commitment. According to American Airlines, "American is involved in a wide variety of military charities that work to support our men and women in uniform, veterans and their families. Our initiatives include providing support to organizations such as Fisher House Hero Miles, Snowball Express and charter flights for Salute to the Troops, Seats for Soldiers and Honor Flights. Through these and more charitable efforts, American continues to help make a difference in the lives of those serving our country."
In Good Company:
The Armed Services YMCA is proud to be connected to American Airlines and their employees who so graciously give back to the men and women who defend our nation.
