On September 13, 2019, the United Way of South Hampton Roads called on over a thousand volunteers to spend the day at local non-profits to complete more than 100 projects. The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) of Hampton Roads was fortunate to be included in those numbers. The Sentara Healthcare IT Department worked hard all day long to accomplish the long list of projects needing attention at the ASYMCA - Virginia Beach location.
Throughout the day, the Sentara team took care of a variety of outside projects. The group focused the bulk of their effort on the four ASYMCA buses used to transport kids to school and back and to take kids on field trips in the summer. Those buses even transport muddy runners during the annual Mud Run! In other words, they get used hard and were in definite need of some attention! The United Way volunteers cleaned and scrubbed and polished and shined. The buses have never looked so good! All the Before and After School kiddos were speechless when they saw the transformation. The Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads is so grateful for the time and energy these volunteers dedicated during the 2019 Day of Caring.
THANK YOU Sentara Healthcare IT Department!!!
