Fort Bragg Caregiver Resources

December 2, 2020: The Armed Services YMCA Fort Bragg would like to ensure that military caregivers are supported and know about local resources available to them! Below is information from Max Dolan, one of the 10 "PEER Support Coordinators":

"This is Max Dolan, writing from my WFH (Work From Home) location in Sanford, NC.  Ordinarily, I work from my office at Fort Bragg, but this COVID-19 thing currently prevents me from occupying my tiny cubicle in the basement of Womack Army Medical Center.   I am one of ten “PEER Support Coordinators” from the DHA Recovery Coordination Program (RCP).  I wanted to introduce myself and my organization to you. You may or may not be familiar with Defense Health Agency’s (DHA) Recovery Care Program (RCP).  If not, I hope that you get a pleasant “Aha!” from the information we have for you.

I hope that you will check out our Caregiver Resources pages on our website: www.warriorcare.mil .  My co-workers and I are found in the PEER Support Coordinator page of the Caregiver Resources menu.  At the very bottom of that page is a link to a map/contact list for all of us throughout the USA.  We have a really great resource for you in the Caregiver Resource Directory, which is in .PDF format edition on our website.  You can download that and use it to find resource information, too. You can search for resources using keywords and the Microsoft “FIND” command (Control + F).

We also have a Virtual Forum for family caregivers of both active-duty service members and disabled veterans.  Click here for a “Perpetual Forum Flyer” that has the general Virtual Forum schedule on it as well as a specific invitation for our next one.

I also want to introduce you to the services of the Intrepid Spirit Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic at Fort Bragg.  You can check out their website here:  https://tricare.mil/mtf/Womack/Health-Services/A_F/Brain-Injury-Medicine-Intrepid-Spirit The TBI Caregiver/Spouse Support Group is a weekly event that can provide important information for Caregivers as well as giving them a face-to-face forum for interacting with each other in a supportive way.

Again I hope that you will download our Caregiver Resource Directory from our website and check it out for national-level government and non-profit resources. We also run the National Resource Directory, a huge online resource database found at www.nrd.gov.

Blessings,

Max"
