DALLAS, TX (August 25, 2016) – G6 Hospitality (G6), the leader in economy lodging known for its iconic Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands across the U.S. and Canada, is proud to expand its support to the Armed Services YMCA with a vehicle donation to the charity’s local branch near Palm Springs, Calif. Thursday, August 25, at 10 a.m. as part of a special gifting ceremony to assist with the ASYMCA’s activities in support of local military families.
As a commitment to our country’s active duty service men and women, G6 will donate two cars to help transport program participants and supplies on and around the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps base. The donation reinforces the brand’s partnership with the ASYMCA, which was announced in April 2015, and loyal promise to make a positive difference in the lives of military communities nationwide. The ceremony will be held at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms and attended by Mike Moore, Vice President – HR Enterprise Operations for Motel 6 and Studio 6, Rick Stockellburg – Motel 6 Regional Director of Operations, Matthew Smith-Rinehart, General Manager at Motel 6, and Dawn Clark, Executive Director for the ASYMCA.
“It brings us great pride to support the ASYMCA in any way we can, so when we learned that the local Palm Springs branch was in need of vehicles, we were delighted to find ways to provide a solution for their transportation needs,” said Mr. Moore. “We are firm believers in the power of collaboration and if this small donation can inspire even one new person to give back to those who selflessly serve our country, we are confident that together we possess the ability to affect tremendous positive change in their lives and those of their families stationed here.”
“This incredibly generous donation shows G6’s commitment to support and honor our military. Having two additional vehicles will let our team do even more for the Marines and families at Twentynine Palms,” said William French, President and CEO of the Armed Services YMCA. “G6 is a great partner, and I am pleased to be able to work with them to find even greater opportunities to support our young men and women in uniform and their families.”
The ASYMCA relies on more than 10,000 volunteers each year to deliver programs and services supporting more than 500,000 service members and their families at its 34 branch and affiliate locations, many of which are located on military installations. As part of the partnership, G6 employees have vowed to participate in the more than 112,000 hours ASYMCA volunteers donate each year and support various ASYMCA efforts, programs and initiatives.
