May 6, 2020 - From the Armed Services YMCA Fort Bragg:
We are so appreciative of the support we received yesterday for Giving Tuesday Now! Yesterday, we raised $2,647 for food insecure families here at Fort Bragg. (This total comes from amount raised on our online campaign, a generous $1,000 match from a donor, and funds sent directly to our office). Thank you to all who donated, shared our social media posts, and advocated of our behalf!
We are continuing our efforts to raise $5,000 by Armed Forces Day on May 16th. There are a few ways you can support our efforts:
- Donate: Every dollar raised makes a difference for food insecure families. As a reminder, if you choose to donate $5 a month or more before May 15th at midnight you will automatically be entered to win airfare and lodging for Valentine's Day 2021 in Paris! Donate today via this link.
- Create your own fundraiser: It's simple to start your own fundraising page for the Armed Services YMCA Food Panty. Simply click this link and then the "Become a Fundraiser" button. From there you can create your own unique fundraising page which can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, email or via text. Share your page now - May 16th and all funds you raise will directly benefit the Food Pantry.
- Share, advocate, and inform: According to a study conduction before Covid-19 roughly 15% of all US Military families were food insecure (according to The Military Family Advisory Network). At Fort Bragg, that translates to nearly 12,000 families! Ensure that families in-need know we are here to support, share our messaging via social media and Facebook, and have conversations with those around you to educate and inform about food insecurity in the military.
We know that times are uncertain. Thank you to everyone who has already supported the Armed Services YMCA Fort Bragg and to those who would like to lend support, but simply cannot at this time. Our commitment to serve and strengthen military families is stronger than ever.
