Leland Vittert as Master of Ceremonies
Leland Vittert has been with FOX since 2010. During his time there he’s covered an impressive range of news stories and high profile events. In 2015 he reported live on the death of unarmed Freddie Gray and the Baltimore, MD protests that followed. He also served as foreign correspondent in the Middle East where he followed the Arab Spring. While there he pursued projects such as live coverage of Cairo’s Tahrir Square the night Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak left power and the last few days of Libya’s revolution which included Muammar Gaddafi’s counterattack. His past and present portfolio of news coverage marks him as a “one to watch” news reporter on the rise.
“We are extremely grateful that Leland will join us for the second year in a row,” said William French, ASYMCA President & CEO. “The Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala is a unique event and we feel Leland’s presence adds a special touch to the recognition of the heroic service members we’re honoring.”
The Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala is an Armed Services YMCA signature event that honors the individual men and women on the front lines who are saving lives and have demonstrated extraordinary courage. Each year, the Armed Services YMCA recognizes a single individual from each military branch for their accomplishments on the front lines.
The 12th Annual Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala will honor medics, corpsmen, and pararescuemen who administer life-saving medical treatment and trauma care on the battlefield. These Angels of the Battlefield are compassionate men and women who risk everything and are often the reason why so many of our nation’s heroes wounded in battle have made it home to their families and communities. Angels is the only event which recognizes the frontline actions of military medical personnel. For more information on this year's Angels of the Battlefield Awards Gala please click here.
