FB-Little-Learners-5-WEBChild Care with General Motors

“I am so grateful for the Armed Services YMCA Fisher Children’s Center. As a full-time working mom with no other support in California, Fisher Children’s Center allowed me to continue working my essential job throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t know where I’d be without them. The staff are incredible and take such good care of my daughter – they are truly strengthening my family in so many ways.” - military spouse, from Armed Services YMCA Camp Pendleton

General Motors leads by example as they collaborate with the Armed Services YMCA to ensure that military families have access to quality and affordable child care. Their support funds programs at local branches enabling military spouses to find and maintain work and continue their education. Additionally, funding from General Motors helps Armed Services YMCA advance our infrastructure, which provides military families with better access to programs and services. Thank you General Motors for your support, which will make a difference for years to come.

HQ-Mil-Child-Care-Reception-2022Military Child Care Initiative

On May 11th the Armed Services YMCA hosted a congressional reception focused on the challenges of child care for military families at The Rayburn Building in Washington DC. Joined by attendees from both sides of the aisle, the Armed Services YMCA is committed to working with partners in the government, private, and non-profit sectors to ensure military families have access to affordable child care, regardless of where their military career takes them. Thank you to Humana Military for sponsoring this event, and to Congresswoman Sarah Jacobs (D-CA) and Congressman Scott Peters (D-CA) for their support of this critical issue.
