The Operation Little Learners program is all about growth and connection. With a focus on early childhood education through curriculum based lessons and opportunities for building community, this program is one of our favorites. We love our Little Learners community. That is why we have been working hard to move this program online. We know it's not the same as spending time with your teachers and friends in person, but we are hoping to create a fun, educational and warm community online.
Each week, circle time videos with your favorite teachers, including Miss Tessa, will be posted in our OLL Online Community. In order to receive access to each week, you must register for this new session. Registered participants will receive an email on Tuesday and Thursday morning with a link and instructions for that week. Each online session will include a circle time video, instructions for the craft and a printable activity sheet. We're also planning some opportunities for live interaction with Miss Tessa!
Register today and don't miss out on any of this amazing, education fun! Registration is open to all active duty dependents between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old. Not yet an ASYMCA Hampton Roads member? No problem! You can activate your FREE membership when you register for this virtual session.
If you've attended an Operation Little Learners session or field trip, chances are that you've met up with our Miss Tessa. She can typically be found right in the middle of all the fun and learning that's happening. Miss Tessa joined the Operation Little Learners in early fall as the new program director. She found her way to this program because of a military relocation that brought her family to Norfolk this past summer, as her husband transitioned from enlisted to commissioned service as a Navy Chaplain. Before this PCS, she worked as the Childcare Director at a preschool near Jacksonville, Florida.
Miss Tessa is not new to the needs of early learners and the demands of military life. A Navy spouse and mom to two teenage boys, she understands the realities of military life with kids. A military relocation brought Tessa and her family to Norfolk this past summer Tessa is currently working on a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education Leadership. She is passionate about building community and educational opportunities for young learners and their parents. Operation Little Learners is such an incredible program here in Hampton Roads and we are lucky to have such a wonderful person leading this program. We are feeling extra grateful to have her during this time of uncertainty.
