An Operation Hero mentor is a very special person that will forever impact a child. These two special mentors at Armed Services YMCA Fort Campbell have dedicated over a year of hard work, service and support for Operation Hero students. "My heart is full," Audrey, a mentor, said. "This does not feel like a job, I feel honored to work with these children."
Operation Hero is a free after-school program for military children on Fort Campbell. Operation Hero students meet twice a week with their peers and mentors. Operation Hero is designed to help these students address the unique challenges they face, such as frequent moves and deployments. The mentors make connections and build a strong bond with the students. This bond creates an atmosphere where students are able to express emotions, receive academic and emotional support, and connect with peers experiencing the same challenges.Join us at Fort Campbell in congratulating these two special mentors on their continuing dedication to Operation Hero.
