Reflections Farm Ranch, located in Valley Center, offered a free 5-day Spring horse camp for Camp Pendleton military children ages 8 to 18. Since 2016, Reflections Farm Ranch has hosted 450 military children from San Diego County, with 50 coming from Camp Pendleton. Our Camp Pendleton ASYMCA will be partnering with Reflections Farm again in June, July and August to offer more camp experiences.
This program is designed for children who want to become safe, familiar and comfortable around horses and ponies, learn proper grooming, learn equine etiquette, and learn basic lunge line skills. Reflections Farm ensures that every camper is able to get the most out of their experience riding and being around the horses. Campers finish their fifth day with full confidence in interacting with horses and a higher self-esteem. Campers also interact with other farm animals, practice archery, garden, learn about plant biology, and participate in arts and crafts.
Here are some comments from Camp Pendleton parents:
"Thank you so much for sending my kids to camp! All those pictures are going into the scrapbook!! My kids loved it, and are hoping to come again!! You guys are GREAT!!!"
"The experience was phenomenal. Truly above any camp Matthew has ever attended. Thank you Reflections Farm Staff!"
"You guys are great! Thank you for giving my two kids this amazing opportunity. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you!"
We are thankful to our community partners, like Reflections Farm Ranch, who provide these free camps to Camp Pendleton's military families.
