Thanks to a partnership with Dominion Energy, summer campers in Hampton Roads got to experience the amazing storytelling talents of Mr. Dylan Pritchett. This summer has definitely looked different than previous years, but through careful planning and amazing partnerships, these campers have gotten to enjoy a variety of amazing experiences. From dance to storytelling to (Mad) science - these kiddos have the opportunity to learn, grow and connect every day.
Last week, Mr. Pritchett joined the summer camp crew to share stories and music based in African and African American Folklore. His masterful storytelling gripped the young listeners. All the campers were thoroughly engaged in the thought-provoking stories. Each tale was carefully selected for this audience and left the kids with a positive life lesson. Mr. Pritchett also gifted each of the campers with a copy of one of his books. Campers had a choice between Yellow-Speckled Blackbird, which can be found for purchase here and The First Music which can be purchased here. All of the kids were super excited to have a story to take home and share with their families. We're so grateful to Dominion Energy for coordinating and underwriting this opportunity for our campers.
