Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina was on a mission when they came to Fort Bragg on Friday - to put in work to support and enhance the lives of our soldiers and our military families.
Along with The Veteran's Farm of North Carolina, Blue Cross NC brought over 50 volunteers to tackle many projects to support The Armed Services YMCA. Together, the group built 4 new garden plots at the community garden, packaged baby supplies for new and expecting mothers at the hospital, built a handicap ramp, installed an emergency door, assisted in our Food Pantry and also had a little time to spare to read some stories to the kids. This volunteer day was a huge success and it goes to show how much you can accomplish with passion and numbers.
The Armed Services YMCA and our families have been blown away by the volunteerism from our mission partners. Thank you to Blue Cross Blue Shield NC for dedicating your time and resources to our cause. It is through your efforts and engagement that we are able to keep our programs going and thriving during any circumstance; on the home front and during deployments, when transitioning between bases, and in times of conflict and peace. Thank you for your continued support!
