The Five Star Kids Academy, at the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads, offers school-age care to children ages 4 through 12 in a safe and reliable learning-focused environment. Our goal is to support both cognitive development and social-emotional growth with opportunities for enrichment and connection in a safe, clean, and healthy setting through:
STREAM-based (science, technology, reading, engineering, art, mathematics) learning activities
Educational partnerships to promote literacy and academic achievement
Homework support
Daily physical activity
Opportunities for creativity, mindfulness, and critical thinking
Engaging lessons and activities that focus on character development and resilience
Daily physical activity and free play
Opportunities for creativity, mindfulness, and critical thinking
Games and interactive activities that focus on character development and positivity to build connections and supportive, longterm friendships
