What is #GivingTuesday?

In short, it’s a day to give back - a Global Day of Giving, celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the popular shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now in its sixth year, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that brings people together to celebrate and support giving and philanthropy throughout the year - but it all begins on this day, #GivingTuesday. Whether you want to participate individually or join with your family, community or company, it’s an opportunity for you to give of your time, a donation, or a gift to those that need it most.

ASYMCA has joined the movement because it’s a great opportunity to give back to our military, particularly at this time of year when being in the military can be pretty tough as a result of the separations during the holidays. Our Armed Forces serve with pride, putting our nation and others before self. The challenges and hardships they face to ensure the safety and security of our nation are immense, with many of them sacrificing far more than we can imagine; and often their families bear the burden of those sacrifices, enduring hardships of their own between the upheaval of deployments, family separations and frequent moves.

Your Donations:

Your donations will go directly to strengthening our military families and give them they help they need and deserve.

    • $10 or $25 can help mentor young students, ship a quilt to a child with a deployed parent or help send a child to a camp.
    • $50 can provide half a day of respite care to a military mother who needs to decompress and take care of errands while her spouse is away.
    • $250 enables three military children to attend a week of Operation Hero.
