Officially designated by Congress in 1999, Military Appreciation Month takes place annually in May. Every year, the president issues a proclamation reminding Americans to celebrate this patriotic month that pays tribute to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Armed Services YMCA Hawai`i and the Military Affairs Council are celebrating with a HUGE giveaway!! We're awarding 3 prizes every week in May, and 2 grand prizes at the end of the month!!

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii and we're kicking off the month is style!
Lei Day is an annual celebration in Hawai`i, held on the first day of May. It's a celebration of Hawaiian culture and the aloha spirit. People commonly celebrate by giving gifts of leis to one another. Local elementary schools also put on plays and elect a Lei Day court of Kings and Queens to represent the different islands.
All ASYMCA Hawaii Branches will host "Lei Day at the ASYMCA" on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 9 to 10am. Participants will learn how to make a simple lei made of orchids, plumeria, or tuberous. Light refreshment will be provided. Event is for adults.

Parents Night Out is a monthly event at the MCBH and JBPHH Branches. For the 2nd year, we're gifting military families with a FREE Parents Night Out in May!
✦ When: Fridays, May 13 and 20, 2022, 5-8pm
✦ Where: ASYMCA Hawai`i JBPHH and MCBH
✦ Cost: FREE!! Normally it's $30 for the first child, $15 for siblings.
