Each year, April is set aside as a military child appreciation month, officially known as the Month of the Military Child. Established in the mid-1980s, the Pentagon and other military support organizations and agencies use the month to recognize military kids for their sacrifice and bravery.
Armed Services YMCA Hawaii is celebrating all month long with special activities as all three Hawaii branches. Fun, belly-laugh inducing activities like pizza parties, ice cream parties, super hero training, t-shirt tie dying, bubble games, a booth at the free Disney Imagination Movers event, Easter egg hunts, and so much more! Most of these events are for kiddos enrolled in our early education programs but we're thrilled to announce an awesome opportunity all military children - a writing contest with some cool prizes! The MCBH Branch is hosting a free pizza "party" lunch and magic show for military families on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the MCBH Chapel from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. See event flyer HERE.

Space is limited. Once all spots are full, we will create a waitlist. Waitlist registrants will be updated if spots become available. Due to the limited capacity, we do ask that if you sign-up you understand the commitment to attend. We want to highly discourage no-shows for this event.
Sign-ups are first come, first served. Space is limited. Preference will be given to junior enlisted families.

Sign-up for your child's goody bag today!
The JBPHH Branch is hosting a drive-thru goody bag pick-up for military children ages 3 to 12 years old. Pickup is on Wednesday, April 20th from 1:30 to 3pm.
Goody bags will include a craft pack to create this cute flag, a special treat, and a popsicle! The goody bag is FREE in celebration of Month of the Military Child. The term "military brat" is a badge of pride worn by generations of kids who traveled the world with their parents, moving into adulthood with the knowledge that they have the strength to handle anything. Military children deal with separations, deployments, frequent moves and even their parents' injuries as part of the life they were born into or entered with their families. Here's your chance to tell your story and win some cool prizes!
Contest is open to all military kids in Hawaii ages 5-17.
Participants must have parent consent. Consent form is on the 2nd page of the entry form.
A selection committee will review all entries and select 4 winners.
Winners will be announced during the last week of April.
