Operation Kid Comfort is one of our most popular services specifically designed to help kids cope with the emotional stresses present during a parent’s deployment. This program helps promote family bonding by providing each participating child with a uniquely handmade quilt.
Each quilt is lovingly constructed and sewn by volunteer quilters and contains photos of a deployed parent. Quilts are provided free of charge and are perfect for cuddling and sleeping. Since 2006 we have distributed over 5,000 quilts.
Children must be between the ages of 0 – 17 years old
Children must be dependents of an active duty service member
Children are ineligible if they have already received a quilt from a previous deployment or another Armed Services YMCA branch.
