The Y has been teaching people to swim for more than a century. In YMCA aquatics programs children learn to be safe around water and gain the confidence that comes with learning something new. Let the Y help your family discover the fun and great exercise of swimming!

  • All Aquatic Lap Lanes will open during designated times
  • Open Swim will be available during designated times with guidelines
  • One person per lane or up to 4 family members living in the same household per lane
  • Three people allowed in the sauna at a time
  • Swim lessons are offered with strict guidelines
  • Masks and gloves are not required while in the pool
  • No lingering on the pool deck
  • Warm Water Therapy Pool for therapeutic use only 
  • Limit 8 people in Warm Water Therapy Pool

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons and swim classes offered by the Armed Services YMCA Killeen  include parent-child and preschool classes, and swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. 

Open Swim

Drop into one of our pools for lap swim, family swim, or recreational swim. Challenge yourself on our Wibit Obstacle Course!

Become a Lifeguard

Take our lifeguard class, get certified as an American Red Cross lifeguard, and apply as a lifeguard at our branches.

Become a Water Safety Instructor

Take our instructor class, get certified as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, and teach swim lessons at our branches.

Phantom Phins 

Join our Swim Team Prep! Refine your child's swimming skills and increase physical fitness in the water. Our swim team prep will prepare your child for competitive swim team.

Water Exercise Classes

Use the resistance and buoyancy of the water to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility.


  • Do not enter the pool if you suspect you have a communicable disease or an open cut or blister.
  • Wear family appropriate and clean swim attire.
  • Shower using warm water and soap before entering the pool or after use of the toilet facilities.
  • Children in diapers of newly potty trained children under 3 must wear disposable swim diapers or re-usable plastic pant with snug elasticized legs and waistband.
  • No extended breath-holding or hyperventilation allowed.
  • Do not engage in rough play in the pool area or locker rooms.
  • Diving is prohibited.
  • Spitting, spouting water from mouth or blowing nose in the pool is prohibited.
  • Diaper changing in the pool area is prohibited.
  • Do not bring drink, food or gum into the pool area.
  • Glass and breakable items are prohibited in the pool area.
  • Our pool will close for at least 30 minutes with lightning is in the area.
