HR2022_Operation Summer Camp

This year's Operation Summer Camp theme is Summer Adventures! Our campers will have the opportunity to engage in different activities that correspond to our weekly themes filled with fun and adventure. We have NEW field trips planned along with a new camp for our 10-12-year-olds!

For more information on Operation Camp, please contact Cleo Wilder or Robyn Eley or call (757) 363-1884.

COVID-19 UPDATES - With Covid-19 still present, we continue to monitor CDC guidelines and adjust our program accordingly. The health and safety of our families is our primary concern. For more information on how we're doing this, check out our SUMMER CAMP CHILD CARE FAQ.

A child’s formative years aren’t just based on the typical school-year calendar. We engage military children in a focused, but fun environment of childhood education. Socialization skills and healthy living behaviors are gained through our licensed Summer Camp retreats. Each week is themed to enhance learning while developing strong and resilient military children. We provide a firm footing to enable these young people to reach their full potential.

Open 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, our camp includes:

    • Licensed facility and trained staff;

    • Field trips;

    • Fitness & Crafts;

    • Healthy Snacks;

    • Weekly STREAM and Enrichment Activities; and

    • FREE Camp T-Shirt

ADVENTURE ON THE MOVE is a RIGOROUS summer camp specially designed for nature-loving, science-curious explorers. It is NOT for the faint of heart. Campers, ages 10-12, enrolled in this camp will be engaged in hands-on, physical activities in a high-energy setting and could be off-site 5 days/week. LIMITED to ONLY 13 participants, a love for the outdoors and being ready to take on physical challenges is a MUST! Campers should dress accordingly, realizing that they will be outside and on the move.

Week 1 & 2: EARTH

  • Campers are able to learn about the mysteries of our terrestrial existence through outdoor excursions to local parks, museums, and MORE!

Week 3 & 4: AIR

  • During these two weeks, campers will have the opportunity to learn about trajectory, inertia, lift and flight with fun trips to Ifly, Busch Gardens, and MORE!

Week 5 & 6: WATER

  • Our water theme weeks will provide campers with a chance to learn about our local water wildlife and enjoy some summer water adventures. Trips include the aquarium, Ocean Breeze, Oyster Restoration, and MORE!

Week 7 & 8: FIRE

  • “Fire” comes in many forms. Campers will explore the fires in the sky with lessons in astronomy to building and cooking on a campfire.

  • During the last week, campers will be able to make a difference in fun ways. From working with rehabilitated wildlife to helping pets waiting for adoptions, campers will learn that helping out can also be an adventure.
