Privacy Policy

This website is operated by the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA). We recognize that many visitors to our site are concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information. This policy applies to all information received by ASYMCA, both online and offline, including the ASYMCA website and mobile applications, as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.

Our website does not collect any personal information unless you voluntarily provide it to us. Any time that you provide information to our website, you will be asked to provide consent to the collection of information.

When you make a donation, purchase a product, or subscribe to our online newsletter, ASYMCA asks you for personal contact information such as your name, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. We may use this contact information to provide you with a receipt or financial report; to contact you to clarify or obtain additional information about an order you placed, a donation you made, or to send you additional information about ASYMCA.

If you make a donation, you may be contacted by us on occasion to offer you an opportunity to make another gift, or to inform you of promotions involving third-party sponsors that will directly benefit ASYMCA. You may also receive a personal call from an ASYMCA staff member, partner, or volunteer thanking you for your donation. You will always have the opportunity to opt-out of future communications from us.

From time to time, ASYMCA rents or exchanges its list of supporters with other trusted organizations to benefit our programs and activities. We have found this to be the most cost-effective method of reaching additional potential constituents and hope you value the information they send you. Your name is only made available to these carefully screened organizations through third-party mailing agents for a limited use. Such organizations will not have continued access to your name and address unless you choose to respond to their initial mailing. You may have your name removed from a list rental or exchange by contacting us via phone, email or US mail through the contact information at the bottom of this policy.

Personal contact information may also be shared with certain vendors (i.e., reputable companies we use for services such as shipping ASYMCA products or sending ASYMCA mail). We have confidentiality agreements in place with all such companies to protect your privacy.

  1. Introduction: ASYMCA and its licensed branches (Together, ASYMCA) SMS Messaging Opt-Out terms and conditions (the “Terms”) detail the procedure for opting out of SMS messaging in compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and its implementing regulations, including the 10-digit consent requirement (“10LC”). Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law.
  2. Opting Out of SMS Messaging: To opt out of receiving SMS messages from ASYMCA, simply text the word “STOP” to the number from which you received the message. By texting “STOP,” you are providing your express consent to opt out of SMS messaging and ASYMCA will promptly remove your phone number from our SMS messaging system. Please be aware that standard message and data rates may apply.
  3. Opt-Out Confirmation: After texting “STOP” to opt out of SMS messaging, ASYMCA will send you a confirmation message verifying that you have been removed from our SMS messaging system. If you do not receive a confirmation message within 24 hours or continue to receive SMS messages from us after texting “STOP,” please contact ASYMCA immediately at donation@asymca.org.
  4. Consent Revocation: If you have previously granted your express consent to receive SMS messages from ASYMCA, you can revoke that consent at any time by texting “STOP” to the number from which you received the message. Note that revoking your consent to receive SMS messages will not impact any other communication preferences you have specified, such as email or phone calls.
  5. Terms and Conditions Updates: We may periodically update these Terms to reflect changes in the law or our business practices. Unless we indicate otherwise, the updates will be effective as of the date they are posted on this page. Your continued opt-in to receive Messages from us following any updates to these Terms will constitute your acceptance of such changes. If you wish to opt out of receiving SMS messages from us, text the word “STOP” to the number from which you received the message (you will receive a confirmation text).
  6. Contact Information: If you have any questions about these Terms or our SMS messaging practices, please contact us at donation@asymca.org

Physical, electronic, and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. All ASYMCA employees with access to personal information obtained on ASYMCA websites or when you voluntarily submit information through a donation are bound to adhere to this policy as part of their employment with the ASYMCA.

We use PCI-compliant systems to protect your financial information. We do not maintain any financial data in our systems. Our data systems are behind state-of-the-art firewalls to ensure we protect your personal information.

We encourage you to share your comments and questions with us. We promise to read all the mail you send to us, but we may not be able to respond to all of it. However, please note that we assume no responsibility for reviewing unsolicited ideas for our business (like product or advertising ideas) and will not incur any liability because of any similarities between your ideas and future ASYMCA products or programs. This means that we have no obligation to treat your idea submissions confidentially and that we can use them without paying you for them. Any and all idea submissions will be owned by ASYMCA exclusively and may be used by ASYMCA for any purpose, now or in the future. You can reach us here.
