Operation Kid Comfort: A Thank You Note From a Grateful Military Family

To the Armed Services YMCA:

Thank you so much for being a part of this wonderful organization.  I contacted Operation Kid Comfort before my husband deployed this January, finding it through a website looking for things to comfort our 3 year old daughter, Emma.  I sent in my form from NAS JRB New Orleans and hoped I would hear something.

Within weeks, I was contacted and told to be looking for our quilt.  When it arrived yesterday, I was in tears reading the sweetest note from "Grandma Carolyn", who sewed it and I wished at that moment I could hug her.  I don't know how many thank you's you all receive on a daily or weekly basis but I cannot tell you how wonderful this quilt is.  My daughter has not let it out of her sight since she saw it.  She's sitting on it right now before preschool.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  If you would please find a way to let everyone know who is involved in these quilts how much I appreciate this wonderful quilt, I would love it.  My husband is currently serving as a Physician Assistant and a LT in the Navy, working through an IA in Africa.  The work he is doing with children in orphanages and in the wound care clinic there is something that he enjoys doing and feels that he makes a difference somehow.  I want you all to know the difference you have made in our lives with this quilt.  We are smiling ear to ear!

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts,
